Founder & Owner

Roddina A. Barrett

Born in Louisville, KY >

Rody initially started riding at the Lake Oswego, Oregon inside the Hunt Club.

A true pony club jumping girl, that all began with 7/8 Arab 1/8 appolousa by the name of: Pharah.

This was the foundation of where Rody learned what it was like to be fully responsible for her own four feet in competition, the long hours of the days mucking her stall, bringing handful of peppermints, just to have the opportunity to take lessons and to begin competitively riding.

Rody Showed: Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers which achieved  ribbons wrapping the walls of her bedroom and inside their family room of her achievements.

Rody then went on to buying Cimarron for $595, a sorrel n white APHA, from a classified ad on the Oregonian Newspaper listing.

Cimarron was an all around athlete to hold a title in the 4D division of barrel racing, gaming, and developing team penning championsHer Mom still proudly carries a series of the photos, just in case you'd like to see the ribbons.

Rody continued in the western discipline as a flag girl in the St. Paul Rodeo.
The Racing Industry Pivot
Well all dreams, there is a shift in direction...
so, you may be wondering:

Where did it begin for the racing industry?

inside a discipline that is notoriously known for the "Sport of Kings..."

Rody was asked to start the 2yr old's for the race track for David Duke, Carol Duby,
Neil Knapp, Sam Dronen, and Larry & Gay Wellive.

Jack and Cookie Root owner of: Oakhurst where they stand Grindstone.

One of the first horses she galloped was Lean on Pete a chestnut Thoroughbred -
(still, to this day, she holds his win picture)...

they turned it into a movie which her horses and Rody were apart of,
this was an awesome milestone, that's been held close for years.

Rody initially obtained her assistant license for:
David Duke n Chris Hartman at Portland Meadows in Oregon.

The first win was Big Dave L with Rocco Bowen up at Portland Meadows

The first win at Emerald Downs- Tros- with Jose Zunino as the jockey, maiden first time starter wins at a mile for partner - Wayne Williams.

From there training grew from just putting a solid start from foundational work, breaking the gate, to spend countless hours apprenticing, watching intently while taking notes and being apart of the development of what will it take to make a name for HERself

The fire has been held in her hands and heart to expand her methods, strategies and her relentless pursuit of: What does it take to condition for the short & the long distance miles?

This same FIRE has kept her on her toes as she begins the early hours of training while the majority of the world is still curled up sleeping.

Starting with the Quarter horses first and slowly transitioned into the Thoroughbreds, now racing at the race tracks of Churchill Downs, Arlington, Belterra, Indiana Grand, Santa Anita, Emerald Downs, and a few additional upcoming tracks based on her client's horses and qualifications.
It all began with chasing the dream of all...

A Derby Horse, for the glory of achievement, the results of sleepless nights, conditioning and for the additional picture for her Mom's photo collection.

There is a Queen that arrives to the field to show the long history of what started out as a pony club jumping girl, and the desires to have the dream of her own Derby Horse.

The Story has just begun...
